Today, Britt wanted to share his latest Adventure, a virtual adventure. For last Christmas, Grumps and Ahna got Britt something he has been wanting to try for a while, an Conqueror Challenge so in a little under a year he specifically hiked or ran laps around the block to total 145 miles. So, without further ado here is Britt to tell you all about his Conqueror medals: hiking the Shire.
For awhile I have wanted to get into a regular exercise routine. I also happen to be a big fan of Lord of the Rings and pretty much anything fantasy. So when I got it as a gift I was eager to begin. It was great hitting milestones along the journey and getting references from both the books and the movies in the Conqueror app. It helped me start a routine, and then I sometimes had to remember to go back and enter my miles walked for the last week, because it had become automatic. It was an overall great experience. I would definitely recommend it to both fitness fans and Lord of the Rings fans in general.
I do need to give credit where credit is due, a friend of mine, also named Samwise Gamgee was able to push me to walk, run, and sword fight my way to 27 miles in two days for a final push to winning my medal. The medal has so many intricate details. The front has the "Keep it secret, keep it safe" quote on an envelope which holds the One Ring. The back has a well illustrated picture of Bag End. The medals are great quality, they feel very solid and are highly resistant to water and sweat. The paint is exquisite and hasn't chipped in the slightest. I definitely look forward to earning more.
One of the most interesting thing about this series of challenges is that each medal has a place to hold the Ring of Power as you walk the journey all the way to Mount Doom where it is placed in the volcano on the final medal. But there is one thing I still have left to do, I must simple walk into Mordor.
